At Back 40 Outdoors, our main passions are hunting big game of the antlered kind, and turkeys.  But when those seasons aren't open, or we just feel like doing something else for a day, we enjoy just about every other kind of outdoor activity.  Small game hunting, fishing, hunting exotics, upland bird hunting, etc.  With Team Back 40 around, nothing is safe if there is a season for it!

How can you beat pheasant hunting with your Dad and a good dog on a nice, warm October day?  Jerod and his dad, Jody were walking a fenceline when this nice rooster got up.  Jerod made a good shot and put the bird down in a standing cornfield.  Kirby, the retriever you see pictured here, bull-rushed into the corn and found the bird like he was born to do it!  Despite being close to 12 years old, Kirby still acts like a pup when he's got hunting on his mind.
